Impairments
Speech or language impairment is defined by IDEA as “a communication disorder, such as stuttering, impaired articulation, a language impairment, or a voice impairment, that adversely affects a child's educational performance.” In most cases a student will use adaptive technology in the classroom to help aid in the communication process.
